What do we hope to accomplish through teaching?
Through teaching I hope to equip students with the necessary tools to become caring successful adults in society. I would like my students to leave my class with knowledge about the different areas of study, the world they live in and about themselves. I want my students to master the different subjects as well as begin to have a sense of purpose and responsibility to their communities.

Yes, commitment to the community and the world we are a part is central to our role as teachers. I was thinking that you should forward your blog address on to Pastor Drewes (or does she go by Pastor Ruth or some other hip sort of title?) so she could weigh in on your thinking. I have enjoyed having you in class and will look forward to learning more about your thinking through this blog.
